We all like award shows, seeing all the famous people we follow and enjoy watching on television, from musicians to actors. The Oscars or Academy Awards were already played and they were fiery to say the least. We all remember the famous slap, don’t we?
However, the GRAMMYs are also interesting and they have also been held, without any slapping incidents, fortunately. Here are some of the most interesting things that happened at the GRAMMYs 2022, in no particular order.
Billie Eilish’s Performance and Tribute
Billie Eilish is anything but mean. Her performance at the GRAMMYs was wonderful. She performed a song from her new album, Happier Than Ever, the eponymous song, of course. However, the performance was dedicated to recently deceased Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins. Hawkins died on March 25th 2022, and the world was taken aback.
Alongside her brother, Finneas, she was rocking out, in memory of the late drummer.
Lady Gaga Brings People to Tears
Another wonderful musician was there to make everyone’s evening slightly better but also slightly more tearful. Lady Gaga performed Love for Sale, dedicated to her now retired singing duo partner, Tony Bennett. Bennett was forced to retire due to Alzheimer’s . The performance was very emotional and Lady Gaga, the professional that she is, was able to deliver it without a hiccup, though you could tell that she was having a hard time.
Jon Batiste Wins
Among the many GRAMMYs that were awarded to musicians in 2022, Jon Batiste took home the most wins, five of them, including the most coveted Album of the Year award for his album, We Are. Batiste is heading into a very interesting direction of music and performance.
His speech was also touching, stating that there is no best musician and artist, that all art finds its way to the person who needs it the most at a certain time.
Olivia Rodrigo Performs
Olivia Rodrigo performed her debut single, Drivers License, and the people loved it. The performance was amazing as she came out of a car on stage. What more could you want from a GRAMMY performance, from a singer who came out of nowhere and took the world by storm, almost a year and a half ago.
She had a great singing performance and managed to win the Best New Artist and Best Pop Solo Performance. She was ecstatic, as one could only assume.
BTS Dancing
BTS is a famous K-Pop band which delivered a great performance at this year’s GRAMMYs. They came out of the audience, and some even repelled from the ceiling. Needless to say, it was an amazing performance.
BTS performed amazing choreography while dressed in black suits. They managed to surprise everyone at the GRAMMYs and impress the world with their perfectly synced performance of their hit single, Butter.
The GRAMMYs of 2022 had some interesting moments, and these were the best of them. May all GRAMMYs have such interesting moments and amazing artists, new and already established.
