There are many different ways to have fun: some people like using betway registration codes, and other people find joy in playing video games. Video games can have the best storyline, the most amazing graphics, and fantastic characters, but if the music isn’t good, nobody is going to play it. The music adds so much to the story and the atmosphere of the game, making it an unforgettable experience that you want to repeat over and over again, rather than just a game that you play once in a while. These 5 video games are especially known for their amazing soundtracks that we want to listen to even when we are not playing the game.
1. God of War (2018)
God of War was one of the most anticipated video games of 2018 and luckily, fans were not disappointed with what they received. What made this game so great was the soundtrack written by Bear McCreary. By including Nordic instruments, McCreary managed to create the perfect atmosphere for the game – the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel like you are suddenly living in that world.
2. Monument Valley 2 (2017)
Monument Valley 2 is a game of strategy and logic, filled with puzzles, mazes, and optical illusions. The goal is to guide the two characters through these mazes to their destination. The game design is quite minimalistic and elegant, which is exactly what Todd Baker wanted to recreate in his soundtrack for this game. He managed to accomplish his mission and we won’t be able to imagine Monument Valley 2 without that unique sound.
3. Journey (2012)
In this indie adventure game, you are supposed to guide a character through a seemingly endless desert. You can meet people along the way, but you are unable to communicate with them in the usual way. In such a game, the music needed to perfectly express the feeling of smallness that you get from playing this game, as well as loneliness, but most importantly longing for connection. Austin Wintory did an incredible job and was even nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. He didn’t win, but this was still a huge step for video game music.
4. The Final Fantasy Series
The Final Fantasy Series is a perfect example of how a soundtrack can become so popular that it is often enjoyed even without the game. However, listening to Nobuo Uematsu’s works while playing the game is the best choice as the music flawlessly follows the story, transitioning from a more relaxed, background tune to intense, emotionally-heavy parts. Thanks to The Final Fantasy Series Nobuo Uematsu has become a household name when it comes to video game music and has managed to sell thousands of albums.
5. The Legend of Zelda
Koji Kondo, the genius behind The Legend of Zelda soundtrack succeeded in creating music that perfectly fits the story – music that is full of action, adventure, and fantastical elements. Just like with The Final Fantasy Series, video game music sometimes becomes an entity of its own. Koji Kondo was so successful with this soundtrack that it even got developed into an orchestral symphony by the name Symphony of the Goddesses. When you manage to create something so widely loved by fans all around the world, you also without a doubt deserve to be on this list.
