The village of Bidu turned into a small battlefield as Palestinians clashed with Israeli soldiers and Border Police in a number of areas over the resumption of work on the security fence Wednesday.

MK Roman Bronfman (Meretz) has called on the IDF to stop firing rubber bullets at Israeli demonstrators against the security fence with.
"We are not talking of animals here, but human beings," he wrote in an open letter to Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz last week. "These are Jews and Arabs who are opposed to the building of the fence and are not posing any danger to the lives of soldiers.
39 wounded in fence protest

Thirty-seven Palestinians, an IDF soldier, and an Israeli activist were wounded in a series of clashes between protesters against the security fence and troops Sunday morning between Deir Kadis and Kharbata near Ramallah.

It seemed like an odd game of capture the flag. On the bottom of the pastoral valley opposite the Palestinian hamlet of Beit Duku waited about 100 Palestinian demonstrators. Lining the terraced hill above them were about 40 soldiers, Border Police, and private security guards.

The Defense Ministry and IDF said Thursday that they bear no responsibility for the actions of private firms guarding the security barrier leaving poorly equipped private security guards to fend off potentially violent anti-fence protests.
